Sing to me oh bards of old
Oh sing to me of battle glorious
Tell me of Danu’s warriors bold
Sing to me of Moyturas green plain
Thunder roared across the grey morning sky
Hordes gathered under clouds of steel
On those darkened fields battle was nigh
A day that remains forever etched in our hearts
From over the sea came they
bringing rape and ruin to our land
inflicting years of misery
but now no more
Clouds darkened grey turned to red
As many a great man lay vanquished and dead
The Morrigan danced on Moyturas plain
Slaughter was carried out as battle furies raged
As many sons of Danu died in pain
As many a Fomorians head was smote
Balor laughed as he cast open his eye
But laugh will he no more as Lugh let fly
What once were planes of emerald, has now become crimson
But yet hope they could herald, The Fomorii are vanquished
Balor is dead. The sons of Danu are now free
So let this be a lesson to carry with you
For the sons of Eirinn
to defeat those who attempt to take this fair emerald isle!
